Ive been spending a lot of this spring on the Rocks. I have a few good buddies who are avid climbers, so I usually get pushed into doing some lead climb I'm definitely not in shape for. Mostly we've been up in little cotton wood canyon in salt lake, and we did few sessions in rock canyon and The Quarry down in Utah Valley.
For a long time I've climbed on and off, but I've never gotten set up with my own gear and really committed to it. These last few climbs have definitely pushed me into doing it more.

Ever since I moved up to Utah I've wanted to conquer the 11,749 ft mountain.
To summit you have to hit it at the right time of year. My Dad, brother Ryan and I tried to summit before too many storms hit, but we were a little too late. We got up to about 9,000 ft when it just got a little to sketchy to move on. One slip or slid without an ice axe to stop your fall and you would be sliding all the way down the face. Just not worth it to continue, and we would have to wait till next summer.
